“Helen’s royalty walkthrough caught an assist we had booked only as opex for two years.”Lin Wei · Finance manager
Flagship program
Duty Valuation Audit Studio
A six-module studio for finance and trade teams who must prove how customs value was built — and how import costs flow into the books.
Learning outcomes
- Rebuild transaction value from commercial invoices and contracts
- Identify assists, royalties, and proceeds that belong in the duty base
- Allocate freight and insurance without distorting landed cost
- Design a sampling plan that a financial auditing app can automate later
- Draft findings with clear criteria, condition, cause, and effect
- Separate customs corrections from GL timing differences
- Prepare working papers that survive second-level review
- Know when to escalate for legal or broker interpretation

Allocation methods that keep import cost audits reproducible across shipment mixes.
-
05
Exception design for audit apps
Thresholds, severity tags, and false-positive control so queues stay usable.
-
06
Mini-audit and findings lab
Capstone review of a redacted file set with peer critique and instructor sign-off criteria.
Instructor
Helen Cho
Helen designs the studio’s file sets from patterns observed in Taiwan(China) import corridors. She coaches judgment calls rather than reciting tariff tables, and she is frank when a scenario needs counsel beyond training.
Informational pricing
Individual Harbor Cohort seat: TWD 18,800. Bonded Desk team packages bundle seats and a private workshop — see pricing. No payments are taken on this website.
Who it fits
Controllers, internal auditors, and trade specialists who already see customs packets weekly. Absolute beginners in bookkeeping may prefer Ledger Brief first.
FAQ
Do you teach a specific financial auditing app brand?
No. We teach review loops — sampling, exception severity, and workpaper structure — that transfer into common app queues. Vendor configuration is your IT team’s job.
Will this replace advice from our customs broker or counsel?
It will not. A real limitation of the studio is that we do not provide legal opinions or binding classification advice. We train you to ask better questions and document what you decided.
How much time should I reserve each week?
Plan five to seven hours across live sessions and file work. Module four often runs long if your broker files are fragmented.
Can we use our own import data?
Yes for Bonded Desk and by arrangement in Harbor Cohort. Files must be redacted before upload; we provide a checklist.

“Solid studio. The app module is thinner than the valuation modules — fine if you already have IT support.”Anonymous client in industrial chemicals
